Since 1990 Spencer has studied many different systems of health and well being including Integrative Counselling, Hypnotherapy, Chinese and Tibetan medicine, Sports Therapy, Nutrition, Meditation, Martial Arts and Yoga. He holds many recognised, professional therapy qualifications as well as a BA (Hons) degree in philosophy from King's College (University of London) and is a member of the following organisations, all of which require full professional qualifications and insurance:
- The National Counselling Society (NCS)
- The Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)
- The Complementary Therapists Association (CThA)
- The Chinese Medical Institute and Register (CMIR)
- The Zen Shiatsu Society (ZSS)
Spencer has gained extensive experience working at several well known clinics in Central London and this has led to the development of his own approach to integrated therapy, creating a synthesis of Eastern and Western knowledge. He has also worked as a specialist mental health mentor at University of The Arts London (UAL), personal development adviser at several London secondary schools, and as a group facilitator and meditation teacher. He has a longstanding interest in various traditions of mind-body health and spirituality including shamanism, kabbalah and the yungdrung bon tradition of Tibet.
In addition, Spencer is a published songwriter and producer who has worked with some of The UK's leading soul singers. He has also worked as a music journalist for BBC Radio. Spencer lives in London with his wife and 2 children, and continues to develop his knowledge of the mind, body and spirit.
